The Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) is an international aid organisation working in Papua New Guinea. The Foundation was established in 2003 and supports the indigenous population of PNG.
The Foundation provides education, health and community service programmes such as disaster relief, micro business promotion and sustainable tourism.
KTF’s work in health focuses on strengthening primary health care delivery in some of PNG’s most remote communities. KTF’s Healthy Communities project supports the ongoing operations of health facilities throughout rural and remote communities in the Oro and Central Provinces of PNG. KTF supports the training and postings of 15 Community Health Workers into 15 aid post and health centre facilities as well as a regular supply of essential drugs and medical resources. With the increased demands of a growing population and rising cases of diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis and COVID-19 the continuation and survival of aid posts is vital for access to basic healthcare.
Wild Trek Tours is a proud Silver Supporter of KTF’s work in health and contributes towards the operations of KTF’s work at Kokoda Hospital where it supports the postings of two Community Health Workers and a regular supply of medicines and medical resources.
Wild Trek Tours embraces putting back into the local communities in PNG, and encourages all trekkers and interested parties to donate to this worthy cause. The KTF is a non-for-profit organisation and the donated funds go to where assistance is needed most. Please donate…..
